Animals become residents for different reasons, but each one is here because it is safer, kinder, or more appropriate for them to remain in our care.
Some residents cannot be released back into the wild due to permanent injury, medical conditions, or the loss of survival skills that would put them at risk.

GUARDIANS
Others live on-site for protection. Our emus and donkeys serve as flock protectors, helping deter predators and keep other animals safe while receiving full-time care and enrichment as valued members of the sanctuary.
We also provide lifelong sanctuary to domestic animals who have experienced neglect, trauma, or circumstances that make rehoming unsafe or inappropriate. These animals depend on human care and are given stability, comfort, and dignity here.
SHELTER
There are also rare and special cases. Casper is an honorary resident. He is fully capable of surviving in the wild and does — flying freely and caring for himself — yet he always chooses to return. By his own choice, this sanctuary is home, and that makes him family.
